Nordec is part of Donges Group, a leading full-service provider of demanding steel and façade systems, owned by the German holding company Mutares. Donges Group acquired the business operations of Normek and Ruukki Building Systems in 2019, resulting in the new company named Nordec. The company is headquartered in Helsinki and has production facilities in Poland, Lithuania and in various localities in Finland. The company’s design and sales are handled in Finland in Vaasa, Peräseinäjoki, Helsinki and Ylivieska. Nordec’s product portfolio includes, for example, multi and single storey frame solutions, façade solutions and steel bridges. Its broad range of services include design, production, management of the subcontracting chain and installations. The company currently employs about 700 workers.
The Sandvik Group is an international industrial conglomerate specialising in high technology, and its Tampere unit is focused on the manufacture and product development of underground and surface drill rigs. Tampere is home not only to the Sandvik factory, but also an Innovation Center for technology and automation and a test mine. The Tampere unit provides employment for some 1,300 people.
